The museum has a huge collection of roughly 40,000 pieces, the most interesting being the archaeological pieces originating from the collection amassed by the museum”s patron, Hipólito Cabaço, from the beginning of the 20th century until his death.Although this collection mainly relates to the municipality of Alenquer, it also has countless pieces originating from other archaeological sites all around the country.
